What is a Godly Leader?

BECOME A BETTER

HUSBAND, DAD, AND LEADER.

What is a Godly leader? What is a leader? The meaning of a leader is one that leads or conducts; a guide; a conductor.

The best example of a leader would be Jesus. He has this way of being able to communicate with anyone regardless of color, culture, or status. If you read through Mark 1:12-13, Jesus is very outspoken of the fact that he is obedient with the Holy Spirit.

What is a Godly Leader? Scripture for Reflection

John 3:30 —He must increase, but I must decrease.”

We, as men, should be very intentional about always seeking the Holy Spirit for guidance and direction. As a leader, you need to focus your energy and time on the Word as a manual to working with different personalities and opinions. The only way to achieve this is to grow a culture of prayer every day and pray about everything no matter how small, or significant the need or problem is.

“And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.” – Luke 18:1

We are privileged to have Jesus and the Holy Spirit as our advocates. The Word says that troubles and battles will come whether they are emotional, financial or spiritual, and our weapon against all of those is the Word.

Hebrews 4:12 – For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Being a leader in your home is different than your work environment or social circle. You might think you need to tell your wife what to do. There is a misconception on this, and the Bible clearly says:

Ephesians 5:25: “Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,”

You must be willing to lead your wife spiritually by motivating her and helping her with understanding scripture.

Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

As fathers, we need to reassure our children’s faith in the lord. We must lead by example either by serving in the church or praying with them every night before bed. Build your prayer life and theirs.

Colossians 3:17 – And whatever you do, in Word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Teach your children that Jesus must be the center of their lives, and they must always be thankful and praise him.
