Perspective Gives You Direction

BECOME A BETTER

HUSBAND, DAD, AND LEADER.

Men, have you lost direction? Have you lost your passion or zeal? Are you confused and don’t know what to do? Do you feel like you are stuck? Do you want to change?

I can relate.

In the culture and society that we live in today, I think we are busier than we ever have been before. With all the weight and the pressure that we carry, we get overwhelmed and easily distracted. The cares of this world, technology, social media, financial stress, debt, our need for significance, the responsibility to protect and an innate desire to provide for our families and ourselves weigh on us. Most of the time we do not even realize it. (Mark 4:19). We are easily distracted, and we lose focus. But most importantly, I think we lose our vision.

Lost vision equals no direction.

Losing our vision for life is effortless. Sometimes we forget that God has a purpose and plan for our lives. Having no goal is the reason why we lose our passion and our will to continue — lost vision. Without vision, situations in our life will be chaotic and entirely out of control. (Proverbs 29:18) Having too many visions or too many plans can also be a problem. We call that “division.”

Vision is a picture goal. Perception is always beyond what you see at the moment. Vision sets the direction. Perception will cause you to be so motivated that you will do whatever it takes to accomplish your pictured goal with joy. Vision gives you passion. Perception will cause you to endure any circumstance in your life.

Do you remember when Saul of Tarsus had an encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus? Saul immediately gave his life to Jesus, and Jesus gave him a vision. (Acts 26:16-19). This vision from God caused Paul to be in a lot of uncomfortable situations, however in his recount to King Agrippa; Paul said that he was not disobedient to the heavenly vision. Paul kept moving forward because he had a clear perspective. (Acts 26:20)

I think this is one of the realest messages for Men these days. The Gift of a Man from God is the Vision of what his purpose and responsibilities to God and all that he is made steward over on this earth. When that is not clear then there are always problems of confusion.
