So true! I just a few weeks ago watch all three of my daughters and a friend after 2 years of going to service raise their hands and go up to the altar and receive God into their heart. I couldn’t hold back the tears. My wife and I pray with our girl nightly ( of course we have the occasional misses ) but I gave my life to the lord at a Starbucks in-front of everyone. And since that day, I have watched God Guide me, it wasn’t easy I was a big fan of hip hop, I was also someone who didn’t socialize unless I was drinking. I was a horrible example to my girls and not a good husband at all. The alcohol wasn’t as hard as I thought but the music I really struggled with. Then I found Lecrea, Bleake Whitley , NF, ( not all NF I would recommend) music I could listen to relate to and it was hip hop with a message of hope. I actually let Alexa play the top hip hop station one day and wow were my eyes opened. I am not trying to smash all hip hop but what I was hearing was just not good all negative, and vulgar, and almost evil motives. I had never really thought about how much music really affected me. They are celebrities and as a child I wanted to do the thing they did. My girls also love hip hop and daily motivate themselves on songs of praise and hope. Mostly lecrea. Sorry for the rambling what I’m saying is my wife and can pray with them. But in a society with so much gossip and bullying. Kids need an outlet not one filled with negativity, retaliation or any ungodly or common issues. They need one filled with hope, with love and proof that you can be cool and be a Christian! I do all I can to let the see me read my devotionals they all have Journals. I give all Glory to God that they haven’t tried to find false hope in all the hype of popularity but instead have actually noticed that they need to Do Something to make kids enjoy church. They are writing ideas of how they think they could draw on the Millennials and show them you can be cool and have fun and still be Godly. They are so right. So please as you lead also challenge you just might be surprised at what you hear.
Sorry for the long post God bless Isaac
Sorry for the typos! My phone doesn’t seem like my typing so she changes it. Lol
Thank you for sharing that, Isaac. Praise Jesus… For each one of you.
